I was blown away the other day when I was introduced to forest bathing at Hawk and Heath at Broughton Sanctuary. Robert Fisher is an expert in Forest bathing and a wellness coach. He took the group around the wooded areas of Broughton Hall sanctuary and taught us about the benefits of being out in nature. Forest bathing or Shinrin Yoku is an ancient Japanese practice that has an evidence based effect of reducing stress levels and helps to regulate blood pressure. I managed to take a beautiful picture of the Larch trees there and I was inspired to paint them in watercolour. It was far more tha a walk in the woods.
